Horror of Horror's

Last night my hubby my bonus kids and I sat down to watch some scary movies. First up was Disturbia which I liked and supposedly was a remake of Rear Window. Having never seen Rear Window I had nothing to compare it to.

Then.... we watched The Hole. I thought Thora Birch who is in one of my favorite movies of all time - Hocus Pocus - was great. Keira Knightley was also in it. Anyway, it has full frontal male nudity. Yikes, can you imagine my horror and discomfort to be watching something like that with my step kids! They are 13 and 11. Mind you it was probably under 30 seconds but that was the longest 30 seconds of my life last night! Needless to say on IMDB there is no mention of male nudity, just female nudity.

Signing off to go see something a little safer (I hope) - Stardust.

Tattoo

OK, so I have wanted a tattoo for about 12 years now. I actually went in to a place once with a friend but the guy freaked me out. My hubby wanted to get me a tattoo for my birthday but I could not figure out what I wanted until a week ago.

A celtic knot. It symbolizes eternity because there is no beginning and end. This specific image is called a Triquetra which is Latin for "three-cornered". There are different meanings for this sign. The meaning I associate with this sign is earth, air and water or body, mind and spirit.

It hurt more than I imagined it would. Could of been because I got it directly over my spine between my shoulder blades. I liked the idea that I could show it off if I wanted to. Kind of sexy I think. If I get a tattoo again I will probably wait a while. I hope you like it!

Actual Knitting Project

So, I started this blog to share actual knitting projects and finally I am able to post some photos. I am pretty new to knitting. I started last fall but have been sewing and doing other crafts for over 20 years and have been wanting to learn to knit. I bought this yarn with birthday money at my favorite knitting shop the village yarn and tea shop. At the moment I can't find the label but it's from Italy. I also bought some in a dark olive almost hunter green. They had awesome colors and I wanted to buy a ton. I thought I would need not quite two skeins per pair of socks but was wrong. I am hoping I can exchange two so I can get eggplant and mustard.

Happy Dance

So, in an effort to become debt free my hubby and I are throwing all of the extra money we can every month at our outstanding debt which is made up of credit cards and a car loan. We think we will be completely paid off in 1 1/2 years with the exception of our condo.

This morning I paid off a credit card!

Admittedly, it was a small one. Under $70. But hey, it's paid off! I am keeping tabs of our debt on a corkboard. As soon as something is paid off I move it from the debt column to the paid off column. It's nice to have a visual I can walk by every day as a reminder.

Next week after I get paid I am paying off another credit card. Nothing can stop me!

Candycane

So, I went an got my hair done yesterday. I have been growing it out as I had it short and flipped . It was so cute and REALLY high maintenance. So, I decided I would have my hair funky and fun with color. These colors are what I have been getting in my hair but more "natural" looking. This time I went a litle crazy. My normal hair color is brown. It looks really light in color compared to the blond and red streaks.
Tell me what you think!

Obsessed

OK, so I found a pattern I absolutely have to make. I came across this lovely example of the Lady Eleanor on Jen's blog. I am going to order yarn on line and can't wait to start it.

Now, being a novice knitter but a pretty expert sewer I feel pretty confident I can jump in to this pattern without too many misshaps as long as I go slow and pay attention to what I am doing. Wish me luck!
